Blackwork

Blackwork is the technique of placing geometric patterns side by side and using different thicknesses of threads to create shading. Blackwork is most known for the designs created during the Elizabethan and Renaissance eras, and often associated with Catherine of Aragon, the first wife of Henry VIII of England.
